Scholarship Facts

No additional application is needed for most Penn State Altoona academic scholarships. You are automatically considered for scholarships as part of your application to the University.

Most scholarships are awarded based on merit and financial need.

The average scholarship award is $1,500.

Students completing their degree at Penn State Altoona are eligible for the Penn State Altoona Majors Scholarship program. Students enrolled in a Penn State Altoona major who have earned a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and 60 or more credits are invited to apply for a scholarship through this program. Each year approximately 80 percent of eligible applicants with merit and financial need receive a scholarship through the Penn State Altoona Majors Scholarship program.

March Scholarships and financial aid packages are awarded to first-year students.

December Tuition and room and board bills for spring semester are due.
