In his final collegiate game Oct. 24 at Pitt-Greensburg, senior midfielder Seth Murrelle (Sayre, Pennsylvania/Sayre) scored a goal to move into sole possession of second place on the Penn State Altoona men’s soccer program’s all-time goals scored list with 21.

Men’s swimming

Pitt-Bradford 116, Penn State Altoona 74

Sophomore Tom Weir (Greensburg, Pennsylvania/Hempfield) earned a first-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke Oct. 28 in a dual meet at Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Pitt-Bradford.

Freshman goalkeeper Emily Strouse (Beech Creek, Pennsylvania/Central Mountain) combined for nine saves in the Lady Lions’ final two games of the season.

Women’s swimming

Penn State Altoona 122, Pitt-Bradford 51

Three different Penn State Altoona women’s swimmers recorded two individual first-place finishes in an Oct. 28 win at AMCC opponent Pitt-Bradford. Sophomore Emily Booz (Berwyn, Pennsylvania/Conestoga) won the 200-yard IM and 100-yard backstroke, freshman Danielle Bye (Hockessin, Delaware/Cab Calloway School of the Arts) placed first in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly, and freshman Hannah Kimmick (Youngwood, Pennsylvania/Hempfield) prevailed in the 1000-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle.

Women’s tennis

Franciscan University 5, Penn State Altoona 0 (AMCC championship)

Penn State Altoona women’s tennis ended its season with a loss in the AMCC title match to top-seeded Franciscan on Oct. 22. The Lady Lions finished the season as conference runners-up for the fifth time in women’s tennis program history.

Penn State Altoona women’s volleyball clinched the AMCC regular season title, earning the No. 1 seed in the upcoming conference postseason tournament. The Lady Lions will host two semifinal matches on Saturday, Nov. 4, and the AMCC championship match on Sunday, Nov. 5, in Adler Arena.
