Donna Bon, director of the Sheetz Fellows Program and senior instructor in entrepreneurship, was presented with two commendations of praise from the state during a Sheetz Fellows meeting April 26.

The first, a Certificate of Recognition for her entrepreneurial spirit within Penn State Altoona and the Sheetz Fellows Program, was presented by State Representative Judy Ward, 80th District.

"Donna does so much for the Sheetz Fellows Program, and that, in return, filters into the community at large. It's a pleasure to present this certificate to her," said Ward.

The second accolade came from Congressman Bill Shuster, recognizing Bon for her work with and in support of the Sheetz Fellows Program. This proclamation was presented on the House Floor in Washington, D.C., and is recorded in the Congressional Record.

"I am overwhelmed by these honors," said Bon. "It's pretty amazing. I don't do this work for the acknowledgement, I do it for the students."

Of Bon, Jesse Ickes, Sheetz Fellows president, said, "She is the cohesiveness of the entire program. The sacrifices she makes for us are incredible, and she is constantly working to prepare us to be tomorrow's leaders."
