ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. – Penn State Altoona freshman Parag Dharbhamulla (Johnstown, PA/Westmont Hilltop) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Player of the Week in men’s tennis on Monday.

Dharbhamulla had a perfect record in both singles and doubles matches last week for the Lions, helping his team grab a pair of AMCC wins.

In Saturday afternoon’s 7-2 win at Pitt-Bradford, Dharbhamulla partnered with Thomas Graden (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) to pick up an 8-0 win in No. 2 doubles. Later in the match, Dharbhamulla prevailed 6-0, 7-5 over his opponent in No. 2 singles.

During Sunday afternoon’s 9-0 home victory over Pitt-Greensburg, Dharbhamulla won 8-2 in No. 1 doubles alongside Jake Colledge (Altoona, PA/Altoona). In No. 2 singles, he earned a 6-1, 6-1 win against his opponent.

Penn State Altoona men’s tennis is 2-0 this season, with both wins coming this past weekend over AMCC opponents Pitt-Bradford and Pitt-Greensburg. The Lions return to action this Friday, March 23 when they play a 5:00 p.m. match hosted by nearby AMCC opponent Mount Aloysius College.
