The spring 2024 issue showcases undergraduate poetry, short fiction, creative nonfiction, visual art, multimedia work, and a faculty spotlight featuring the recent commencement address of Brian Black, distinguished professor of history and environmental studies.
“The Badass Bluettes: An East Coast – West Coast Poetry Reading” will feature Penn State Altoona Professor Erin Murphy, Lynne Thompson of Los Angeles, Susan Rich of Seattle, and Mary Lou Buschi of New York.
Students, faculty and staff will have the opportunity to view the exhibitions “Passing Freight and Contours: Land, Rail, Rau” by photographer Stephen Mallon and guest curator Julie Rockwell.
Three student-athletes from the Penn State Altoona men’s volleyball team were voted to the All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference squad as the league announced its postseason awards on April 16. Outside hitter Avery Farabaugh, of Ebensburg, was a first-team all-conference selection, middle blocker Connor Ebersole, of Altoona, was a second-team pick, and middle blocker Jared Kish, of Columbus, Ohio, received third-team honors.
Penn State Altoona student-athlete Nick Beard, of Manns Choice, was chosen as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Player of the Week in men’s tennis on Monday, April 15.
The fair offers students a chance to share their research projects and other creative activities with the campus community, friends and family members through oral presentations, poster presentations and performances in various categories.
Penn State Altoona will hold a screening of the film “Please Stand By” at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, in the Fireside Lounge of the Slep Student Center.
