Penn State Altoona hosts successful state criminal justice conference

The Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Justice Educators (PACJE) held its annual conference at Penn State Altoona from April 5 through 6. Hosted by the college’s criminal justice department, the event was planned by Nathan E. Kruis, assistant professor of criminal justice and vice president of PACJE.

Three Penn State Altoona student-athletes earn player of the week honors

The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference announced Player of the Week honors on Monday, April 8, including three Penn State Altoona student-athletes. Brianna Bone, of Morrisdale, was named pitcher of the week in women’s softball; men’s volleyball’s outside hitter Avery Farabaugh, of Ebensburg, was named Offensive Player of the Week; and Casey Hess, of Annville, was named Player of the Week in men’s tennis.

Penn State Altoona Writing Commons to offer ‘chillax’ event

Students are invited to relax, have a cup of coffee and a snack, color, play games, and study for finals during the Writing Commons’ end-of-semester “Chillax” event, set for April 15-25. Lounge hours will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday in Room 127 of the Eiche Library.
