Birding Classic grows, funds put to good use

For the second year in a row the Earth Day Birding Classic was held at Penn State Altoona as teams competed to identify by sight or sound as many species of birds as possible in 24 hours in Blair and nearby counties. Funds from the first classic were split between two local projects.

UHS to collect student health insurance information for 2017-18

Penn State is moving toward a University-wide health insurance requirement for the 2018-19 academic school year. In preparation for the new requirement, University Health Services (UHS) will begin collecting student health insurance information in May 2017.

Penn State Altoona held its spring 2017 commencement ceremony May 6 at the Jaffa Shrine. More than 160 of the graduating 210 students attended the ceremony.

Students Advocating for Disability Awareness at Penn State Altoona held a “Spread the Word to End the Word” banner-signing event March 1 in the Hawthorn Building to kick off intellectual disability awareness month. SADA's primary mission is to create inclusive environments on campus and in local communities for people with disabilities.
