Altoona professor leads group in maintaining the right-of-way in the right way

A group of faculty, students, energy providers, and vegetation-management companies are looking at how to best maintain right-of-ways under utilities to protect those utilities and promote wildlife at the same time.

Birding Classic grows, funds put to good use

For the second year in a row the Earth Day Birding Classic was held at Penn State Altoona as teams competed to identify by sight or sound as many species of birds as possible in 24 hours in Blair and nearby counties. Funds from the first classic were split between two local projects.

UHS to collect student health insurance information for 2017-18

Penn State is moving toward a University-wide health insurance requirement for the 2018-19 academic school year. In preparation for the new requirement, University Health Services (UHS) will begin collecting student health insurance information in May 2017.

Penn State Altoona held its spring 2017 commencement ceremony May 6 at the Jaffa Shrine. More than 160 of the graduating 210 students attended the ceremony.
