Are all summer students automatically registered for Penn State Altoona LEAP?
No. Students elect to participate in LEAP by completing the Enrollment Process

How does LEAP work?
Each student registers for two courses designed for first-year summer students. If the student was originally admitted for fall semester, their admission must be changed to summer semester. To change your starting semester from fall to summer, contact the Office of Admissions at altoonaadmission@psu.edu.

Can fall admission students attend LEAP?

How much does LEAP cost?
A student’s total fees are based on the number of credits taken and the summer housing and meal plan. Please see the Costs page for more information.

What is the deadline for LEAP registration?
The deadline to register for LEAP is May 1, 2018. Prides are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so apply early!

Can I be considered for financial aid beyond the tuition grant and book stipend provided by Penn State?
Yes. Complete the 2017-18 Free Application for Federal Student Aid as early as possible, and no later than June 30.

Where can I obtain additional information regarding funding for summer enrollment?
The Office of Student Aid at Penn State Altoona is located at W113 Smith Building on campus, and can be reached at 814-949-5055.

May associate degree students participate in the LEAP program?
Yes. Both baccalaureate and associate degree students may enroll in the program.

Will there be additional out-of-class opportunities for students enrolling during the summer?
Yes. The Office of Student and Civic Engagement will have summer programming. In addition, exercise and recreational opportunities will be available.
